Eli is actually doing quite well considering he had shots. He has been a bit more vocal, although not crying, and wanting to nurse more, but other than that he is fairly normal. Giving him Ibuprofen is something to watch. He gets this face that says he thinks whatever that foreign liquid is, it is nasty. It takes a good 5 minutes to get the little bit down him. If I try to do it any faster, he just pushes it out with his tongue. I tried to give it to him while he was nursing, sneak it on the sly, but he is too smart for that. He got MAD at me!
This has been a tiresome week and I have a meeting in Spokane on Saturday morning. It will be a good meeting, but I'm not all that excited to drive to Spokane and back. Tomorrow Isaac is staying home with Aaron and Hannah so I will spend a little extra time after preschool prepping for conferences next week. When I get home we are headed off to the Stock Show in St. John. I'll be sure to post pictures. The kids always enjoy the animals and jumpy castle.
Hannah looked so grown up to me today. She is getting so tall, and her face has no young childness to it anymore. I am very proud of how she is growing up and the person God is forming her to be. She has such a soft and compassionate heart. She loves people and is very concerned about those who don't know who Jesus is. She has an amazing silly side and a super cute laugh. She is incredibly intelligent and is absorbing knowledge like a sponge. I am so very proud of her!
Isaac declared this morning that he wanted to be a firefighter when he is "growed" up because he wants to save people. We've been learning about firefighters in preschool and he has had the best time with it. His laugh brightens my day and his inability to be sneaky about something cracks me up! This little guy loves numbers and is trying to figure out the reading thing. It won't be long!
One of my favorite moments in each day is hearing Hannah read stories to Isaac after they are tucked into bed. Isaac runs to Hannah's room and she reads to him. They snuggle up together and have amazing bonding time. Even though they have "sibling" moments where they bicker and fight, they really have a close bond and love each other so much. I don't think they would know what to do without one another. Their bond warms my heart. I'm excited to see what kind of bond they form with Eli, together and individually. I am so blessed to have three children and a man of great integrity to be my partner. Sometimes the dynamics are frustrating and tiring, but the family life is so rich! I am anxiously anticipating our richness of life with our family of 5.
