I still call Eli my baby, even though he is a full blown toddler. I just can't quite let go of baby yet! So, my baby has a big 102 fever. Yuck. I'm sure it is an ear infection. I took him in yesterday with a low grade temp. He had fluid in his ears, but not an infection. He is massively teething, molars working their way through. I'm sure that fluid has now turned to infection. He is grumpy, nursing ALL the time, not wanting to sleep, uncomfortable... classic signs of his ear infections. This will be his 4th in as many months. I think I will ask about tubes. This was a long, dreary road with Hannah and I think tubes would have made a huge difference for her. So, in the morning, we will be off to the Dr. again!
A grumpy baby who doesn't want to sleep has kept me from my biking, but being a Mommy comes first. I am going to try and get some time in after I finish this since Eli is actually sleeping at the moment. Ibuprofen took down his fever and we got some ear numbing drops in. We'll see how long it lasts. I'd like to get a good 30 minutes in, but that might be wishful thinking.
BEcky, I've been thinking, whenever I see posts about your kiddos having ear infections and stuff, that they may possible be struggling with allergies too, like you have, they usually run in the family, I wish we could talk on the phone,my kids and myself were just diagnosed with a bunch and we have seen so much improvement giving up the foods in just over a month, Jamison actually sleeps through the night now,at 5 yrs old, it's the firs time in a long long time.
ReplyDeleteCharissa, Hannah has been tested and everything came back negative. She has had a lot of improvement since having her tonsils out. Eli is looking like he is on a similar road. Their ears just don't want to drain. Isaac never has had a problem with it. I'll ask my Dr. about it tomorrow though. Thanks for the thought!
ReplyDeleteXavier had tubes in twice - the second set were permanent and had to be removed a couple years later. They removed his adnoids with the second set of tubes and it was a dramatic difference. He saw the ENT dr that's attached to the Pullman hospital (been long enough that I can't remember his name). Xavier's infections were so bad they affected his hearing which in turn affected his speech so getting them in early makes a big difference.
