Cabin Fever

Today was a beautiful day! Alas, I did not get outside. The double stroller was calling out my name, but both Hannah and Isaac are sick. Isaac made it through the night last night without puking, so he is on the mend. Hannah started getting sick this morning. They both are congested with a yucky cough, although Isaac is sounding better. Anyway, we stayed inside today.

Thus far Eli has remained healthy, not catching whatever it is the other two have. The miracles of breastmilk! I'm hoping he stays healthy. A young infant with a fever is not my idea of a good time, especially when it would mean a visit to the ER in the middle of the night.

While we remained inside, the Ibuprofen kicked in for both of the kids and they seemed to have more energy... enough in fact to make a complete mess of the main floor and the upstairs of the house in the amount of time it took me to nurse Eli. Amazing. I wish they could put that amount of energy into cleaning it all up.

All in all, things are really going quite well. Eli is such a wonderful baby and he really does have a wonderful big brother and big sister. This Mommy is working on a few things to be a better Mommy. I am having to work on "letting things go." Being OK with a cluttered mess is something I am trying hard to embrace. Sometimes the mess makes my mind feel messy and I just can't concentrate on anything. This is something I will HAVE to get over with having three children. I am doing better at it. I do have my moments. But, I am determined to spend time loving on my children, playing games, doing projects, reading to and with them, talking to them about Jesus, sharing faith growing experiences and just being there. So, something has to give...

So, these are the thoughts of a mommy stuck inside on a beautiful day in Endicott. We'll see what tomorrow brings!
